The world of pet nutrition is complicated and with all the different guidance and “rules” out there, there’s a lot of information – and misinformation – to weed through as a pet parent to determine what is best for your furry family members. So, we’re going to make it easier and break down five of the top reasons that you should be feeding your dog a truly raw diet.
1 – A raw diet is a natural diet.
Dogs are descendants of wolves and while the pets that live in our homes with us are thousands of years removed from hunting for their meals like their ancestors, their bodies are not so different. Dogs are anatomically designed to derive their nutrients from raw meat, organs, and bone; their bodies are built to be able to process them. Alternatively, their bodies struggle to digest and pull nutrients from overly processed kibble and canned food. Kibble also often contains synthetic fillers, preservatives, meat byproducts, and even denatured meat, none of which is good for our dogs’ digestive systems. The best way to ensure that they are getting the nutrition they need is by feeding a well-rounded and balanced raw diet of fresh foods; a natural diet.
2 – Just like with people, the food our dogs eat directly impacts their quality of life.
Food is fuel for our dogs’ bodies and what they eat has an enormous impact on their health and on how their bodies function.
